3 Crucial Details to Remember When Choosing Chair Covers

You’ve got a big event coming up, and that’s great. But what do you do with the folding chairs you’ve rented? The answer is the slipcover. Designed to cover up unsightly and drab rental chairs, chair covers can hide flaws as well as serve as a strong complement to your overall wedding decor.

Here are three details to remember when considering which chair covers to select.

The Style of the Chair

Your rental chair will make a big difference on which type of cover you select. Usually, chair covers come in 2 main styles: those meant for standard banquet-style chairs (including crown backs) and those meant for standard folding chairs.

Also it’s important to note that many chair covers will not fit wider folding chairs like Lifetime folding chairs. Make sure you know what kind of chairs you have before purchasing chair covers.

The Material

While the chair style pertains to fit, the material detail is all about the look and feel (and incidentally, the setup and cleanup, too). So consider your options carefully before choosing the one that best fits your presentation. For example, we offer three material choices: spandex, polyester, and satin. Each fabric has its own unique qualities. Satin offers a glossy finish and easily slips on and off (as does the matte-finish elegant polyester). Spandex, on the other hand, has a sleeker look, but requires a longer setup / cleanup because each corner needs to be stretched and secured to the chair feet. On the plus side, the spandex stretches to a wrinkle-free presentation whereas the polyester and satin will need to be steamed before your big day.

The Foundational Colors

We recommend choosing a foundational color such as white, ivory, or black to act as a starting canvas for your design. Then you can add color to match your theme using accents like wrapping chair bows around your finished chair cover or colored napkins adorning the tables.

And that’s it! Buying chair covers can be overwhelming, but with a little bit of help, you can find just the right cover for you.
